We have a very eclectic mix of pro-tools for the stained glass professional and serious hobbyist in our studio and we hope to find more. If you have suggestions we'd like to feature them here... |

| We have developed some cool soldering tools which we'll begin selling as soon as they are done. | |||||||
| We have a new product which just needs a little more "tweaking" which we're quite proud of. .it should be ready in two months! (end of May) | |||||||

When
we first started in the business, we cut our zinc outer bar by hand with
a hack saw, the way everybody I knew was doing it. Then we got an
account with a furniture manufacturer. I built ten panels for furniture
in a week. It took a long time to cut all the metal, the whole panel was
zinc.
So we bought a Jarmac brand saw (but we actually bought three to get their price break). Whew, what a difference, we built the next set of ten in eight hours. The only problem with the Jarmac saw was that the nuts that held the blade on were all made of aluminum, so they would gall and be extremely difficult to remove. I got a friend at a machine shop to make a new housing out of brass and problem was solved. I could have looked for a compound at a supply house that would have prevented the galling. (A common example of galling that most folks are familiar with is when a light bulb gets difficult to get out of the socket. The light bulb and the socket are both made of aluminum and grind together and almost fuse sometimes). |

Later, I found a good saw for a very good price. The Jarmac saw runs about $120 or more. Harbor Freight.com carrys a small saw called a Mighty-Mite..do a search for it (they no longer carry it in store) (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93211) It only costs 49.99 and is sometimes on sale even cheaper. Get one of them and then buy a Jarmac blade for the saw (you can get one from us by clicking here) and you'll be set! | ||||||
